<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toner having a small particle diameter and capable of forming an electrophotographic image having high image quality by using a bonding resin contg. a high molecular compd. of a specified styrene compd. and/or its copolymer. SOLUTION: A high molecular compd. of a styrene compd. represented by the formula and/or its copolymer is incorporated into a bonding resin. Since this compd. contains a protonic acid, satisfactory negative chargeability can be imparted to toner particles. Since a phenyl group excellent in hydrophobic property exists, the absorption of moisture in the air at high humidity by a hydroxyl group can be suppressed. As a result, unstableness of image density due to unstableness of triboelectric chargeability can be corrected. The content of the high molecular compd. and/or its copolymer is regulated to 0.0001 to <50wt.%, preferably 0.0001 to <20wt.% based on the total weight of the resultant toner. In the case of >50wt.%, fixability is deteriorated.</p> |
