PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent charging terminals from being connected erroneously with each other by providing recessed portions in the bottom surface of a battery pack, and by providing protruding portions in such positions of the inserting portion of a charger as to be engaged respectively with the recessed portions when the battery pack is inserted into the inserting portion in its normal state and as not to be engaged respectively with the recessed portions when inserted erroneously. SOLUTION: In the bottom surface of a battery pack, a set of charging terminals are provided for recessed portions to be provided respectively on both the end sides of the set of charging terminals. In a second inserting portion 4 of a charger 1 which is dedicated to the charging of the battery pack, protruding portions 12, 12 for engaging the recessed portions of the battery pack therewith are provided, respectively. The heights of the dispositions of the protruding portions 12, 12 are both set larger than the ones of charging terminals 5, 6 in the state of them being protruded. Accordingly, when the battery pack is inserted into the second inserting portion 4 in its normal state, the protruding portions 12, 12 are engaged respectively with the recessed portions of the battery pack for the charging terminals of both the battery pack and the charger 1 to be contacted with each other. Also, when the battery pack is inserted into the second inserting portion 4, reversing it right and left, since the protruding portions 12, 12 are not engaged respectively with the recessed portions of the battery pack, the battery pack is placed more above by the height portion of the protruding portion 12 in comparison with its normal insertion state for both the charging terminals to be prevented from being contacted with each other. |
