PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the degree of separation of double image quickly from a design data by calculating the angular difference between the lines respectively connecting the reverse tracking virtual image point of a beam group transmitting through the three-dimensional curved surface model of a plate glass toward an eye area and the reverse tracking virtual image point of a reflected beam group, with the center of eye area. SOLUTION: A geometric three-dimensional profile model of glass surface is generated from design data, and in a double image simulator, beam groups R1 -Rn projected from a light source L on the outside of a vehicle through a glass toward the eye area EE of a driver are assumed and calculates transmitted main beam groups S1 -Sn and reflected sub-beam groups T1 -Tn are calculated, thus determining a transmitted main virtual image point Tk and a reflected sub-virtual image point Hk where the reverse transmitted main beam groups S'1 -S'n and reverse reflected sub-beam groups T'1 -T'n , tracking the beam groups S1 -Sn and reflected sub-beam groups T1 -Tn reversely, are concentrated most. The differential virtual angleβbetween the line of sight of a transmitted main virtual image Tk Ec connecting the center of eye area Ec and a virtual image point Tk and the line of sight of a reflected sub virtual image Hk connecting the center Ec and a virtual image point Tk is calculated at many point on the glass thus displaying the extent of separation of a double image corresponding to the differential virtual angleβvisually in the form of intensity distribution diagram along the glass surface.
