PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of performing transfer, fixing, and so on under the most suitable conditions to the quality of each material by automatically recognizing a difference in transfer-material quality without requiring a user to operate an operation switch or without using a special sensor, which causes a cost increase as a result, in the case of image formation using, as a transfer material, a sheet of paper, such as OHP sheet, whose characteristic is different from that of plain paper. SOLUTION: The color image forming device is equipped with a latent image carrier 1, an intermediate transfer body 5 for receiving a toner image, formed on the latent image carrier 1, by transfer, holding it on itself, and then transferring it onto a transfer material in a transfer position, a transfer means 6 for transferring the formed toner image on the intermediate transfer body 5 to the transfer material, and a fixing means 7 for fixing the formed toner image on the transfer material to the same place. In the color image forming device, the quality of the transfer material is judged by the detection signal of a photosensor obtained when the transfer material passes through the detecting position of the photosensor 60, by arranging the intermediate transfer body 5 or the reflection-type photosensor 60 for detecting information formed on the intermediate transfer body 5, along a transfer-material carrying path 52 used for supplying the transfer material to the transfer means 6. |
