<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission type liquid crystal display device having a wide visual field angle and excellent visibility at a low cost. SOLUTION: Interlayer insulating films 38 are formed in the upper part of TFTs 24, gate signal lines and source signal lines 23 and pixel electrodes 12 are formed thereon. The pixel electrodes 21 are connected via contact holes 26 penetrating the interlayer insulating films 38 to the drain electrodes 36b of the TFTs 24 by connecting electrodes 25 and the peripheral edges thereof are overlapped on the signal lines 23. The interlayer insulating films 38 are constituted by using a material of <=500 angstrom in the difference between the varying heights of the undulation of the surface or the difference in level of the surface, >=1.5 to <=5μm in thickness, 2 to 5 in specific dielectric constant and 90% in light transmittance of a wavelength of 400 to 800nm.</p> |
