<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compatibility for the improvement in brightness and contrast characteristics of a effective display screen and the improvement in coloring property of each color including green of a display image, and provide a color picture tube capable of realizing a display of high quality by regulating the chromaticity of a color filter corresponding to the green picture element. SOLUTION: A number of red, blue and green picture elements arranged on the inside of a face plate 101 have a phosphor layer 103 and a color filter 106 interposed with the face plate 101. The green picture element is constituted in such a manner that it has a chromaticity plotted in the fourth quadrant when the chromaticity of the reflected light when the light from a standard light source is emitted from the outside of the face plate 101 is plotted in a coordinate system having a* in (L*a*b*) color system as horizontal shaft and b* as a vertical shaft. Thus, high brightness and high contract characteristics of the effective display screen and high coloring property of each color including green of display image are made compatible, whereby a color picture tube capable of realizing a display of high quality can be provided.</p> |
