PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly start oxidation treatment of HC in a stage of a catalyst leading to an activation temperature at engine cold time, by increasing fuel at operational condition time necessary for ensuring stability by a fuel increase, on the other hand reversely decreasing fuel corrected in the case of the increase unnecessary, and attaining increasing of oxygen concentration in the catalytic atmosphere. SOLUTION: At engine cold time just after starting, in the ease of deciding air-fuel ratio feedback control in a stop condition (S33), a water temperature increase basic value correction- increasing a fuel injection amount in accordance with a water temperature is obtained by referring to a map (S34), on the other hand a water temperature increase rotation correction value correcting this basic value in accordance with an engine speed is set. A water temperature decrease value correction-decreasing the fuel injection amount is similarly obtained, next, the water temperature increase basic value is multiplied by the water temperature increase rotation correction value, and a water temperature increase value is obtained (S35). Whether an engine is placed in non-idle operational condition or not is discriminated, in the case of YES, the water temperature increase correction value is selected as a correction coefficient of water temperature, increase correction of the fuel injection amount in accordance with a water temperature is executed, in the case of NO, the water temperature decrease value is selected, similarly decrease correction is executed.
