PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of the gradation balance and the degradation of color reproducibility, sharpness and magnetic recording performance even in a rapid developing process by controlling the gradation of yellow, magenta, and cyan obtd. by two kinds of developing processings different from each other in developing time to satisfy specified conditional expression. SOLUTION: A red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contains such a compd. that releases a development inhibitor having >=0.3 diffusion layer by the reaction with an oxidizing group in a color developing agent. When the photosensitive material is subjected to two kinds of development processes I and II with different color developing times, each gradation of yellow, magenta, and cyan obtd. by the two development processes satisfies formulae I-III. In formulae I-III,γ1 (Y),γ1 (M),γ1 (C) are gradation of yellow, magenta and cyan, respectively, when the development process I is performed, andγ11 (Y), #11 (M) andγ11 (C) are gradation of yellow, magenta and cyan when the development process II is performed.
