<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to exactly input the instruction position of an input pen without requiring particularly an amplifier, etc., to transparent electrodes for display on the side considered to be electrostatically weak in bond when viewed from an input pen side. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display element with input functions has a front surface glass substrate 3 and rear surface glass substrate 4 which are arranged opposite to each other apart a prescribed spacing via a peripheral sealing material, are sealed with liquid crystals within the spacing and are respectively formed with row electrodes Y1 to Ym and column electrodes X1 to Xn as the transparent electrodes for display on the respective opposite surface sides. The input of the information in the position to be instructed with the input pen 5 is made possible by the electrostatic coupling between the input pen 5 brought near to be front surface glass substrate 3 side and the row electrodes Y1 to Ym and the column electrodes X1 to Xn. The electrodes D1 to Dp to be exclusively used for detecting the coordinates of the wider finer than the width of the transparent electrodes (column electrodes) X1 to Xn for display on the rear surface glass 4 side are formed on the front surface glass substrate 3 in parallel with the column electrodes X1 to Xn on the rear surface glass substrate 4 side.</p> |
