Method for catalytic cleaning of sulphideous gas flows being characteristic in that a gas flow is brought in contact with a solid sulphur absorbent comprising tin oxide and zinc oxide on a heat resistant carrier at elevated temperatures; the absorbent is sulphidated and the gas flow is de- sulphurised; and the sulphidated absorbent is regenerated with an atmosphere containing steam and oxygen.
