PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toner uniform in composition and stable in quality even in the case of a continuous kneading system by pneumatically classifying pulverized resin particles to convert them into substantially irregular-shaped specified average particles. SOLUTION: The resin to be used is regulated to have a prescribed sharp particle diameter distribution by changing the classification system from a screen classification system to an air separation system. The raw material of the toner composition containing the resin and a colorant is mixed, kneaded, cooled, pulverized, and classified to obtain substantially irregular-shaped particles having an average particle diameter of <=2mm, preferably, <=1.5mm, especially, <=1.0mm, and further, it is preferred that the main peak of the particle diameter distribution is <=1000μm, and if the average particle diameter and the peak position are out of these limits, ununiform localization of the material tends to occur when the material is fed to the kneading process.
|
