PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a natural emphasis image by hardly receiving local fluctuation in an image signal in the case of applying emphasis processing to an image signal. SOLUTION: A variance arithmetic means 12 obtains a variance of an original image signal Sorg, a smoothing means 13 smoothes the variance to smooth an isolated very small signal fluctuation such as a radiant ray noise and the image signal in which a comparatively high frequency component (Sorg-Sus) is emphasized in the original image signal Sorg is obtained according to equation of Sproc=Sorg+β×(Sorg-Sus) by using the emphasis coefficientβdepending on the variance after smoothing. |
