<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the function as a monitor video system by selecting a compression rate depending on sensing of occurrence of a fault by a sensor. SOLUTION: Video data obtained by pickup of an image by a camera 1 are fed to a monitor 4, on which the picked-up image is displayed. Furthermore, the video data obtained by the camera 1 are fed to a data compression section 3a of a VTR 3, in which the data are compressed and fed to a data recording section 3b, by which the resulting data are recorded onto a magnetic tape. When no fault is sensed by sensors 5-1 , 5-2 , a data compression section 3a conducts data compression at a high compression rate and the data recording section 3b conducts continuous recording or intermittent recording depending on the setting of the recording mode. When any fault is sensed by the sensors 5-1 , 5-2 , the data compression section 3a conducts data at a medium or a low compression rate and the data recording section 3b makes continuous recording. Since the video data are compressed at a high compression rate when a fault is sensed by the sensors 5-1 , 5-2 , a long time recording is attained even when continuous recording is made so as not to miss a decisive moment for analysis of a recording image on the occurrence of a fault.</p> |
