PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting system for a lightweight display, that can emit the combined light of plural discharge lamps at high color rendering properties with a variety of colors. SOLUTION: A plurality of discharge lamps are connected in parallel with the output end of an oscillating circuit converting direct current into a high-frequency output, and are arranged so that they can be dimmed individually. The plurality of discharge lamps radiate light with different colors and are enclosed inside the same case, together with a lighting device.
