MACHINE TRANSLATION SYSTEM AND TRANSLATION CANDIDATE DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the editing work of the translation result by presenting translation candidates of a desired translated word on the translated sentence side. SOLUTION: When a 'next candidate' key is depressed (A13) after an arbitrary translated word in a translated sentence displayed as the translation result is designated as the candidate display object by a cursor (A12), translation candidates are generated based on the original word before translation of the designated translated word and are successively displayed (A14 to A16). When a 'candidate collective display' key is depressed (A17), translation candidates are collectively displayed (A18 to A20). Thus, other translation expressions related to a desired translated word are confirmed on the translated sentence side to perform the editing work.
