PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a clear image by providing an angle detection section measuring an incident angle, a storage section, an arithmetic section to calculate a distance up to the receiver, a discrimination section and a display section displaying a guidance of a viewing distance based on the discrimination result. SOLUTION: Two angle detection sections 3 connecting to a remote control reception section 13 detect an incident angle of an infrared ray. An arithmetic section 5 calculates a viewing distance between a viewer and the television receiver based on the incident angle, the distance between light receiving elements stored in a storage section 4, and a calculation equation. A discrimination section 6 discriminates the viewing distance to be 'proper' for the range of reference values L1-L2 stored in the storage section 4, discriminates 'near' for a range closer than the L1 and discriminates 'remote' for a range far from the L2. The result is displayed on a display section 7 by a LED display or the like depending on the classification of 'proper' or the like. Thus, a guidance is made by observing a screen within a proper viewing range and a powerful image clear in detailed parts is observed. |
