PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the follow-up ability of a focus detection means in focus detection in a mode suitable for a dynamic subject and to improve the alignment of a focus detection area with the subject. SOLUTION: This camera is provided with a line-of-sight detection means 101 detecting the position of the line of sight of a user looking in a finder, the focus detection means 103 performing the focus detection based on the detected result by the detection means 101, and a control means for a camera repeating photographing operation while a release button is depressed.
