摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed refractive index type plastic light transmission body having excellent transmission characteristics and showing no change in the distribution of refractive index with time in an easy process. SOLUTION: This distributed refractive index type plastic optical transmission body consists of a matrix polymer having a structure of addition of carboxylic acid to glycidyl groups. The proportion of carboxylic acid added in the polymer is gradually decreased from the center part to the outer circumference. The optical transmission body is obtd. by filling a tube container made of an org. polymer with carboxylic acid and monomers having glycidyl groups and then heating or irradiating the tube with light to polymerize the monomers from the outer wall side of the tube to the center while the addition reaction of the carboxylic acid to the glycidyl groups of the monomers proceeds and the inner wall of the container dissolves and swells.
