PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read a bar code positioned at the shoulder part or protector of the gas container by a single scanner without any limitation by reading the bar code of the gas container out by repeatedly swinging up and down the scanner while rotating the scanner around the axis of the gas container. SOLUTION: A movable element 4 at the head read position of the gas container G which is held stationary is equipped with the scanner 5 so as to read the bar code g3 of the gas container G by repeatedly swinging the scanner up and down at a proper angle while rotating the scanner around the axis of the gas container G carried into the read position by a proper angle. Namely, this scanner 5 while swiveling by 180 deg. repeatedly swings within an angle range of 90 deg. while receiving the driving force of a cylinder 5c to read the bar code g3 of the gas container G out. Then once the scanner 5 finishes swiveling by 180 deg., an air motor 4a stops and the movable part 4 is elevated and gets ready to read a next gas container G. |
