PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drastically lessen the disconnection of electrode lead terminals by foreign matter. SOLUTION: Dummy color filters 20 are formed at prescribed intervals atop a lower substrate 3 facing the part near the cutting point existing on the outer side of a sealing material of the upper substrate of the color liquid crystal display device constituted by sealing liquid crystals via the sealing material between a pair of the upper and lower substrates. Insulating protective films 9 are formed to cover these dummy color filters 20 and the electrode lead terminals 12 are formed at a prescribed pitch on the insulating protective films 9 between the dummy color filters 20. Then, the front surfaces of the electrode lead terminals 12 are formed lower than the front surface of the insulating protective films 9 corresponding to the surfaces of the dummy color filters 20 and, therefore, even if the foreign matter, such as glass powder generated at the time of cutting the upper substrate, sticks thereon, the damage of the electrode lead terminals 12 by such foreign matter is lessened and the disconnection of the electrode lead terminals 12 is drastically lessened. |
