PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a button type alkaline battery with long storage life performance, high capacity, and high electrolyte leakage resistance by specifying the shape of a negative case and forming a tin plating layer on the inner surface of the negative case. SOLUTION: In a button type alkaline battery using zinc 4 as a negative active material and an alkaline aqueous solution as an electrolyte, a negative case 1 in which the negative active material is mainly housed is formed in the shape of a cup, and a tin plating layer is formed on the inner surface of the negative case 1.
