PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens which can be made wider than the wide-angle end of the existent zooming without using any new optical system. SOLUTION: Second zooming Z2 is possible with a combination of 1st zooming in a 1st focus area F1 and image point correction in an image point correction area C. In this 1st focusing, a 1st lens group Gr1 moves to the object side to make a change from an infinite-distance focusing state (∞) to a short- distance focusing state W(D0). For the image point correction, the deviation of an infinite-distance image L from a film surface which is caused by the 1st focusing F1 is corrected by moving all the lens groups Gr1-Gr4 along the axis.
