PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil, which can be inserted and installed in a plug hole, by a method wherein a miniaturization of the coil is contrived. SOLUTION: An ignition coil is provided with a magnetic core 11 formed by winding an amorphous alloy foil 11b on the outer periphery of an electromagnetic soft-iron bar 11a, a coil main body 10 having primary and secondary coils 15 and 16 arranged in a series state in the longitudinal direction of this magnetic core 11 and a closed case 20, which is housed with this coil main body 10 and comprises a case main body 21 and a cover part 22. With an amorphous alloy foil 23 adhered to the inner surface of the main body 21, phenylmethyl silicone oil is filled in void parts in the case 20, which is housed with the main body 10, as an insulator 30. |
