PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a driver to select an optimum return spot according to his budget and schedule by presenting an excess charge at a return designated spot, and abandon charges and excess charges at abandon spots to a driver. SOLUTION: A control part 15 searches an optimum return route to the destination (rental branch office) from an own vehicle position, displays from an image output part 17 and pronounces (18) guidance messages. Required time tn to the rental branch office is then compared with time tr obtained by subtracting present time clocked (12) from return appointed time. In the case of tn >tr , that is, impossible to reach the rental branch office by the appointed time, all branch offices within the specified distance are searched as abandon branch offices in a data base 14, and the respective distance and charges of these branch offices and rental branch office are displayed (17) over route display. The rental branch office is displayed in red, and the abandon branch office of lower (higher) charges are displayed in blue (green), for instance. An excess charge at a return designated spot, and abandon charges and excess charges at abandon spots are thus presented to a driver. |
