<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nightlight whose on time can be adjusted according to installation conditions although it is designed to be capable of turning on automatically when a human passes. SOLUTION: An incandescent lamp 5 emitting illuminating light to the front side and a heat ray sensor 43 for detecting heat rays radiated from human bodies present within a detecting area set ahead are enclosed in an apparatus main body. If the presence of a human within the detecting area is detected by the heat ray sensor 43 and a detection output rises, a control circuit 40 turns on the incandescent lamp 5 and, after a set period of time has elapsed from the fall of the detection output, turns off the incandescent lamp 5. The time from the fall of the detection output to the turning off of the incandescent lamp 5 can be adjusted by a variable resistor VR1 .</p> |
