PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent image without a dummy area by extracting automatically image data included in a rectangular area in an image after synthesis of plural images so as to generate a panorama image. SOLUTION: Attribute information is stored together with a picked-up image by an electronic camera 7. In the case of picking up a panorama image, the image pickup mode of the electronic camera 7 is set to the 'panorama image pickup mode' and a same panorama ID is set in a series of images to be picked up. The camera 7 is connected to a computer via an interface 22, an image data management system 23 is started and data in the camera are displayed on a data display means 25. The user transfers image data including the same panorama ID in the attribute information to a panorama synthesis means 27, and plural images are used to conduct panorama synthesis processing. Then the image obtained by an image extract means 28 is processed into proper rectangular image data to obtain a final panorama image. |
