摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase external light emitting efficiency by extending an electrode to an area that is not covered by wiring and forming an insulating layer under a part of the electrode which is covered by wiring. SOLUTION: One of the methods for improving an external light emitting efficiency is to move the center of light emission to a place where there is no light shielding layer above. In order to do this, an insulating layer 47 is so formed under a part of an electrode 40 which has a light shielding layer above as to be brought into contact with a semiconductor layer 21 formed under that part of the electrode 40 and thereby inrush current is prevented from flowing from that part of the electrode 40. On the basis of this idea, the electrode 40 which rushes current into a light emitting layer is provided on the light emission side and the wiring 140 is connected to the electrode 40. The electrode 40 is extended to an area which is not covered by the wiring 140 and the insulating layer 47 is formed under the part of the electrode 40 which is covered by the wiring 140. For example, an anode electrode is constituted of the T-shaped electrode 40 which consists of electrode sections 40a and 40b and the insulating layer 47 is formed under the electrode section 40a. By this method, an external light emitting efficiency can be improved.
