PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the electric resistance variation from magnetic signals by adopting an oxide containing thallium(TI) and manganese(Mn) using a com pound material in a specific pyrochloe structure. SOLUTION: As for the material, thallium oxide (TI2 O3 ), manganese oxide (MnO) weighed making the mol ratio TI:Mn=1:1 is mixed together. After performing the drawing step is a specific shape, the material wrapped up in a gold foil is pressurized at 2.5GPa to be formed by baking at 1000 deg.C for 30min using a synthesizer under a high pressure. Thus, a pyrochlorestructured compound material represented by a composition formula: TI2 Mn2 Oy (where Y represents a value of about 7 changeable according to the kinds, composition ratio and synthesis requirement of a component element) can be produced. In such a composition, the electric resistance of this material at a near room temperature in the unimpressed state of outer magnetic field is about 70mΩcm changing about -87% compared with the unimpressed state of the outer magnetic field of 7 tesla at 135K. Through these procedures, notable magnetio- resistance effect can be achieved.
