摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a process for producing a liquid crystal display device having excellent display quality which prevents the electrification of an insulating substrate arising during the course of production by arranging the insulating substrate on a supporting table having the surface roughness of the main surface of a specific value and treating the substrate. SOLUTION: The printing supporting table 103 which is 1.6 to 50μm, for example, 6.3μm in the roughness (Ra) of the main surface formed by applying a plating layer 107 by Kanigen plating on the front surface of a SUS plate molded of its surface to a desired shape and is formed with holes 105 for sucking and fixing is used. The electrode substrate 11 is sucked and fixed thereon and the surface of the substrate is printed and coated with an oriented film by a letterpress printing plate 101. The peripheral edge of the holes 105 for sucking and fixing are formed to a tapered shape and the plating layer 107 grounds the substrate. The electrode substrate 11 is thereafter sucked and fixed similarly to a hot plate of 6.3μm in the roughness of the main surface and is dried by heating at about 70 deg.C. The static electricity generated at the time of detaching the insulating substrate from the supporting table increases when the surface roughness of the main surface of the supporting table is confined to <=1.6μm. The accurate fixing to the supporting base is conversely difficult when the surface roughness is larger than 50μm.
