The handling hook consists of a lifting hook (1), on the end of a shaft (2), with a lifting shackle (4), attached to the top end. Lower down the shaft, just above the start of the hook, is an eyelet (5), which provides the attachment point for the quick release shackle (5a), which carries the safety hook (10). The safety hook is fitted on the end of a short length of chain (6), with one end linked to the quick release shackle and the other end attached to one end of a spring (8). The second end of the spring is fixed to the security hook, which is formed to provide a handle (7), in the form of a U-shaped section, provided between the spring and the hook.
