ANTENNA FOR UNDERGROUND PROBING RADAR AND UNDERGROUND PROBING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection sensitivity by suppressing signals reflected from the surface of ground and further enlarging the amplitude of signals reflected on underground embedded pipes by suitably selecting the length of a guide terminal part at a 1st section on a substrate. SOLUTION: 1st sections 55 and 56 on the upper surface of substrate 52 of antenna 51 for underground probing are extended on both sides of 1st direction along the substrate 52 with respect to a power feeding point 53. One 1st section 55 is composed of a main section 57 formed on the substrate 52 and a rising section 58 to rise while being inclined so as to get closer from a terminal part 159 near that power feeding point 53 to the power feeding point 53 and similarly, the other 1st section 56 is also composed of a main section 59 formed on the substrate 52 and a rising section 60 to rise while being inclined so as to get closer from a terminal part 61 near that power feeding point 53 to the power feeding point 53. A length L1 between free terminal parts 64 and 65 of main sections 57 and 59 at the 1st sections 55 and 56 along a 1st direction 157 is selected from 550mm to 620mm and when that length gets out of this range, the amplitude of signals reflected from the underground embedded pipes is lowered.
