PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a satisfactory cut end face by eliminating the slack of an optical fiber at the time of a cut operation. SOLUTION: A cut device 20 is provided with two front and rear clumps 26 and 27 for grasping the optical fiber 2a. The clumps are provided with rubber-made pedestals 28 and 29 and pressers 30 and 31. The pressers 30 and 31 are fitted to a cover 25 which can freely be opened/closed. The surface of the pedestal 28 at the terminal-side of the optical fiber 2a forms a taper-form at the external side. At the time of the cut operation of the optical fiber 2, the optical fiber 2a is loaded on the pedestals 28 and 29, and the pressers 30 and 31 are descended with the cover 25. The optical fiber 2a is grasped by the pressers 30 and 31 and the pedestals 28 and 29. Since a taper is attached to the pedestal 28 tension is operated on the optical fiber 2a and slack owing to the line habit of the optical fiber 2a can be removed at that time. Then, a cut blade 36 is moved and a scar is given to the lower face of the optical fiber 2a and a pressure tool 38 pushes/bends it from above and cuts it. |
