PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a piezoelectric actuator so that it may be housed in a thin pipe, and enable low-voltage drive by improving operation efficiency. SOLUTION: A drive shaft 1 for driving a load is expanded and contracted by a strip shaped first piezoelectric element 2. A pair of strip-shaped second piezoelectric elements 8a and 8b are juxtaposed on both sides of the first piezoelectric element 2. For the second piezoelectric elements, the ends on one side are fixed to the bases 5a and 5b, respectively, and the other ends are coupled with the conversion pieces 6a and 6b. The conversion pieces 6a and 6b can rotate on the rotation pins 7a and 7b, and at the contact clamp parts 3a and 3b, they clamp or release the drive shaft 1. The drive shaft is displaced to the right or left by controlling the application voltage to the first and second piezoelectric elements. Since this transmits the expansion and contraction of the second piezoelectric element to the conversion piece, the downsizing and low voltage driving can be achieved. |
