<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the switching operation surely without causing any high voltage surge when power is fed from one generator to a heater load for heating a catalyst and a low voltage load for common electric apparatus selectively. SOLUTION: A generator 10 is connected selectively with a low voltage load L1 for electric apparatus and a heater load L2 for heating a catalyst through a relay switch 30 for switching the load having two make contacts and a normal close contact 32b is connected in parallel with the low voltage load L1 for electric apparatus and a battery 33. When the catalyst is inactive, a controller 20 conducts the exciting coil 31 of relay switch 30 to connect the switch terminal 32c with a normal open contact 32a and sets a high target voltage before feeding an output voltage VG to the heater load L2 for heating catalyst and heating the heater load L2. When the catalyst reaches the activation temperature, power generation is interrupted temporarily to bring about a nonconducting state and then the terminal 32c is connected with the contact 32b. Finally, a low target voltage is set and power generation is resumed to feed the battery 33 and load L1 with power.</p> |
