<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ATM switch and its control method by which both communication cells without deteriorating the throughput of a switch processing a 1:N communication cell together with a 1:1 communication cell. SOLUTION: A demultiplexer means 12 demultiplexes cells received from one input port into a 1:N communication cell and a 1:1 communication cell, a priority selection means 13 further separates the separated 1:N communication cell into a high priority cell and a low priority cell and they are respectively stored in 1:N provision buffers 14, 16. Then the priority with respect to the 1:N communication cell is set to a higher priority cell and a lower priority cell, and the low priority cell is given to an input side middle multiplexer means 18, in which the cell is multiplexed with the cell of 1:1 communication and stored in a buffer 19 corresponding to the output port, an output side multiplexer means 20 multiplexes the communication cell onto the highest priority cell and provides an output.</p> |
