<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily confirm the range of a monitor area without a jig for monitor area inspection by deciding whether or not there is a person from the output of an infrared detecting means and collating the output of a sound collecting means against a specific pattern. SOLUTION: The infrared detecting means 11 always receives infrared rays from the monitor zone and outputs a voltage corresponding to the quantity of the received infrared rays, and a control means 15 calculates the quantity of variation of the output in a specific time and judges that a person enters or exits from the monitor zone if the quantity of the variation exceeds a specific threshold value. When an inspector confirms the range of the monitor area of the detector 1, the inspector enters the monitor area and claps his hands three times, for example, at second intervals and then the sound is inputted from the sound collecting means to the control means 15, which collates it against the stored specific sound pattern. The control means 15 detects the movement of the person, detects the specific sound, and enters a monitor area confirmation mode when the specific sound matches the specific sound pattern to turn on a display means 12 each time the movement of a person is detected, thereby making the inspector confirm the range of the monitor area.</p> |
