PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a silver halide photographic sensitive material excellent in dot quality and dot reproducibility, high in sensitivity, high in density, having highγand eliminating a generation of a black spot by incorporating a redox compd. satisfying a specified condition. SOLUTION: One kind redox compd. which restrains development by being oxidized and satisfies the conditions of (1)-(3) is incorporated in a silver halide emulsion layer and/or adjacent hydrophilic colloid layer, and a supporting body is a stretched film consisting of a syndiotactic polystyrene. (1) a development restrainer releasing ratio (%) under the condition A is <=4.5, (2) the development restrainer releasing ratio (%) under the condition B is <=15.0, (3) (the development restrainer releasing ratio (%) under the condition A)>(the development restrainer releasing ratio (%) under the condition B). Provided that the development restrainer releasing ratio is (a measured development restrainer concn./the concn. at the time of 100% releasing)×100.
