The skimmer consists of a reservoir (1) designed to be immersed in a liquid (2) to be skimmed, with its lower section having an aperture (3) connected to a suction source, a float (5) and a skimming tube (6). The float (5) is tubular in shape and surrounds the skimming tube, being able to slide together with it in a guide aperture (7) in the reservoir's upper wall. The float is able to move between an upper position in which the upper end of the skimming tube is above the surface of the liquid and the suction source is not activated, and a lower position in which the upper end of the skimming tube is situated adjacent to the liquid surface and the suction source is activated.
