Several built-in components (2) are arranged one behind the other in the housing (3) with axial spacing (10). They are of differing lengths, and are so formed that they divide the housing cross-section into four axially directed flow paths (5-8). One of the flow paths (5) for a first gas part flow (9) passes right through and the three further flow paths (6-8) are so formed that a second gas part flow flows through them one after the other. The first of the flow paths is open at the inlet and outlet sides, the second is open at the inlet side and closed at the outlet side, the third is closed at both the inlet and outlet sides, and the fourth is closed at the inlet side and open at the outlet side.
