The drive unit has an electromagnetic drive motor (6), a gear (5) and an electronic controller (7). The control signals to open or close the doors are provided from a transmitter (10) to a receiver (9) of a remote control in the drive unit controller (7). The drive motor (6), gear (5), control unit (7) and receiver (9)are all modular components. The gear (5), the controller (7), the receiver (9) and the motor (6) can be plugged together one on top of the other. The individual components may be encapsulated individually in non-conductive resin.
