Method for producing plate like products from oblong elements

The oblong elements are supplied geometrically sorted and shorter pieces are separated off and whilst retaining their mutual alignment are packeted and selectively connected together with their longitudinal direction at least approximately perpendicular to the plate surface to form the plate-shaped products. The elements are supplied parallel close together as bundles. The bundle can be supplied in a first direction whereupon a section is divided off and moved in a second direction.
