Lightweight sports sailing catamaran

The catamaran (1) has two hulls which may be connected be a bridge on which the mast stands, and the hulls may be filled with foam buoyancy material to reduce the chance of sinking. The rig of the catamaran includes a mainsail with battens and a boom, a big foresail or genoa and a jib with its tack connected to a bowsprit. There is also a spinnaker which sets on the bowsprit. Roller reefing gear is used to furl and to set the foresail, jib and spinnaker. There are trapeze lines allowing the crew to use their body weight as ballast to counteract the heeling moment of the sails.
