PROCESS FOR PRODUCING RESIN COMPOSITION CONTAINING INORGANIC FILLER

A process for producing a resin composition containing inorganic fillers, which comprises bringing a layered mineral having an equivalent area per unit intralayer charge of 40-150 ANGSTROM <2>/charge into contact with a sterically hindered organic cation and then with a thermoplastic resin having a solubility parameter of 9.5[cal/cm<3>]<1/2> or above so as to disperse the mineral in the resin on a molecular level. The obtained composition is excellent in rigidity and resistances to heat and impact and is suitable for use in the fields of, e.g., automobiles, household electric appliance parts, construction materials, and industrial materials.
