This device comprises: - a plurality of ports (1 - 10), into which any electricity-consuming appliance may be plugged; - a central management unit (30), capable of managing on the one hand, the distribution of electricity to each of the ports (1 - 10) from the electricity mains (31), and on the other hand the interaction between a prepayment entity (27) and the potential users of the said ports, the said management unit (30) managing the connection of one of the ports to the mains in respect of a specified period or specified quantity of energy after actual payment. Application: parking areas, rest areas, marinas and commercial harbours, caravan/camp sites, recharging of the batteries of electric motor vehicles.
