Proposed are stabilized rosin dispersions obtained by (a) heating rosin to a temperature above its melting point, (b) reacting it at this temperature with an aqueous solution of a sulphosuccinate of formula (I), in which R<1> is an acyl group with 8 to 18 carbon atoms, R<2> is R<1> or hydrogen, n is a number from 5 to 20 and X is an alkali metal or an alkaline earth, ammonium, alkylammonium or alkanolammonium, most of the water present being evaporated off to give a water-in-oil emulsion, and (c) the water-in-oil emulsion inverted by dilution with water and then cooled to give a liquid dispersion. Such dispersions are suitable for the production of invert size for instance. |
