Frequency doubling circuit

The circuit for doubling the frequency of an electrical signal having rising and falling level changes, comprises a pulse generator, which produces a pulse at each level change of the input signal, having a smaller pulse period than the respective interval between the level changes. A monostable multivibrator is triggered by each level change, and produces an output pulse with a period which is smaller than the interval between the level changes. The mono-stable multivibrator produces the output signal whose period is controlled by a control signal, produced by a circuit which samples the output signal and generates the control signal from the respective difference to a reference value. The mon-stable multivibrator is controlled so that it produces a frequency which is double the input frequency.
