The roller blind (2) is fitted out with sleeve (5) and spring (4) which extend over the direction in which the blind moves so the blind is extended when the sleeve is inflated but rolled down shut by the spring. Preferably, the blind is equipped with two parallel spaced springs (4) designed as pre-tensioned strands running at right angles to the blind's anchorage (2'). The springs are flat and preferably made of plastics, spring steel or shape-memory steel. One spring and one sleeve are mounted one above the other so as to extend right over the extended blind length, the sleeve inflated by compressed air and the blind additionally furnished with stiffening elements (11) set at right angles to the springs and sleeves, and typically in the form of thin metal or plastics wires.
