Control and regulation system for vehicle characteristics

The system has control elements which can change the vehicle characteristics, wheel; speed sensors for individual detection of several wheel speeds, a controller, a wheel speed sensor fault detector, a fail safe device, a parking brake actuation detector and a fail safe operation inhibitor which prevents fail safe operation when a fail safe operation inhibiting signal is generated. The fail safe operation inhibiting signal is generated only for a defined time period after the existence of a state in which the actuation of the parking brake is detected and a drive signal is output by a detector of vehicle motion.
