The transformer (7) is installed on an oil tray (12) inside a rectangular container. The container has double doors on the front and a flanged surround (6). The container is delivered and fitted into an aperture (2) on the front wall (3) of the building. Under the floor (11) of the installed container are an oil drainage compartment (10) and trunking for the electrical connections to and from the transformer. The container also houses switch gear and other components of a medium power, e.g. 650 kVA, transformer substation.
