Insulation jacket for fluid carrying conduits

A removable insulation jacket (18) for a fluid carrying conduit (14) includes an inner backing layer (19) preformed to securely fit around the conduit (14). Insulation material (20) is affixed to the inner backing layer (19) and joined to an outer shell (22). The insulation jacket (18) is placed around the conduit (14) by engaging the insulation jacket with the conduit along an axial opening formed along the length of the insulation jacket, and the opening is then sealed at the outer shell (22) to secure the insulation material about the conduit.
